What you put in a piercing is one of the
most important factors when it comes to successful healing and the
long term health of the piercing.
We only use the safest materials that have been meticulously
crafted into the finest body jewellery.
This is our "go to" titanium alloy. This is the same
material used in medical and dental implants and is
specifically made to go inside the body due to it's
excellent biocompatibily and strength.
Chemically this is a mix of Titanium, Aluminimum &
Vanadium (Ti6Al4V ELI).
It's important to remember not all titanium jewellery is
equal. Make sure you're getting the best for your body.
Gold is an excellent material for body piercings. Offering
a combination of safety and elegance that can be missing
with titanium option.
However, it's important that all gold body jewellery is
solid gold in either 14k or 18k. Lower karat gold contains
too many other materials which can lead to complications.
With plated or vermeil jewellery this plating wears over
time leading to the inner core material coming into contact
with the tissue and again leading to complications.
We ONLY use solid 14k and 18k gold which has been alloyed to
be free from nickel and cadmium ensuring all our gold is
safe to wear in your piercings for life.
Niobium is another material used in safe body piercings.
Commonly used for captive bead rings and seam rings but also
some ends, circular barbells and barbells.
Niobium is a commerically pure material and one of the most
biocompatible metals on the planet.
Not only is the material important but the surface finish of the
piece is integral to the viability of the piercing.
Body jewellery should be polished to a mirror finish. This removes
imperfections in the piece which can lead to irritation within the
piercing channel and fluid build up.
All our jewellery has been made to the highest standard by some of
the finest manufactures on the planet to ensure you are only
getting the best, safest pieces possible.
You can see in the image the top piece of jewellery has a dull
finish throughout the piece but an especially rough finish within
the gem setting, whereas the lower piece is perfectly finished to
a smooth, mirror polish.
